Planning Permission Granted - A Major Milestone for Our Community In Nottinghamshire

We are incredibly proud to announce that Rowntree CIC has officially been granted planning permission to build our new Equine Therapy Centre in Nottingham. Approved by Gedling Borough Council in October 2025, this marks a huge step forward in our mission to create an accessible, inclusive and purpose-built equine therapy facility that will support children, young people and adults across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands.

For many months, we have been working hard behind the scenes to bring this vision to life. From early-stage planning and consultation through to technical development and design, this project represents years of dedication, collaboration and community-focused ambition.

Working Alongside Property Design Studio

As part of the development process, we have been proud to work alongside Nottingham-based interior and building design specialists Property Design Studio. Their team has played an important role in helping shape the future vision of the centre by completing detailed technical drawings and creating. stunning building concept visuals that capture the heart of what this facility will become. The attached imagery and video showcase the anticipated plans for the project and provide an exciting glimpse into the future of the Rowntree Equine Therapy Centre. Together, we have focused on designing a facility

that is not only practical and accessible, but also welcoming, calming and purpose-built for therapeutic support and community wellbeing.

A Vision for the Future

The proposed Equine Therapy Centre will provide a dedicated space where individuals with mental health challenges, physical disabilities and additional support needs can benefit from equine-assisted therapy in a safe and supportive environment. The development plans include:

• Accessible equine therapy facilities

• Purpose-built stable and horse care areas

• Indoor therapy and education spaces

• Safe and inclusive outdoor environments

• Community-focused wellbeing facilities

This centre has been designed with long-term impact in mind — creating opportunities for healing, confidence building, emotional wellbeing and physical development through the unique connection between people and horses.

Turning Plans Into Reality

Receiving planning approval from Gedling Borough Council is an important achievement, but it is also just the beginning of the next chapter. Since approval was granted in October 2025, we have continued progressing the project behind the scenes with technical planning, design refinement and future development preparation in partnership with Property Design Studio. We are excited to now begin sharing more of the journey publicly as we move closer towards making the Rowntree Equine Therapy Centre a reality.
